Youth Mental Health Equity Coalition

When programs designed to support California’s most vulnerable youth faced the chopping block in an unexpectedly large budget deficit period, Change Craft led and mobilized the 30 + member coalition to take action with comprehensive advocacy communications materials, and coordinated outreach. Our efforts successfully restored 88% of the funding we aimed to preserve, ensuring critical programs for youth mental health equity and other vital public health programs continued.

Organized collective action with 30+ organizations and provided rapid-response turnarounds to adapt strategy for the changing environment as needed.
Infographics, briefing materials, letters, press outreach, digital assets, and social media campaigns were all coordinated to drive results.
Orchestrated voices from directly impacted youth and parents as part of actions and worked collaboratively across other coalitions and supporter organizations who share common values.
Every dollar spent on mental health saves California $7 in long-term costs. Youth mental health programs prevent crises, reduce disparities, and create a healthier future. With one in four young Californians experiencing severe emotional distress, this work is more urgent than ever.
