Dana Wagner, PhD

Dr. Wagner is a social psychologist with extensive experience in research design, project management, data analysis, and reporting across experimental, quasi-experimental, survey, and program evaluation projects. Her expertise spans social and behavioral, health communications, behavior change theory, social justice, and health equity research. She has contributed to work on topics ranging from public housing and tobacco control to adverse childhood experiences and has received multiple awards for her contributions to psychology and scientific knowledge. She is passionate about translating research for real-world application in programs and campaigns that provide information, support, or resources to underserved populations.
Dr. Wagner is a seasoned researcher with LGBTQ+ populations, serving as Principal Investigator on several large-scale qualitative and quantitative studies at national, state, and local levels. She served as a key member of the team who envisioned, developed, and implemented This Free Life, the FDA’s award-winning national campaign designed for LGBTQ+ young adults. Many of Dr. Wagner’s publications demonstrate her leadership and innovative approaches to engaging youth, both teens and young adults, through various research methodologies.
